Books
To locate books at PJC and other Florida community college libraries, click
on Find Books at the top of the Library homepage. Enter keywords into the
search box. For example: dreams psychology. Books can be requested from
other campuses. For assistance, contact a librarian or see the instructions
located at http://library.pjc.edu/pdf/find_books.pdf . To find books at other
libraries, click on Search Other Libraries on the left side of the Library
home page.
RESEARCHING THE TOPIC:
Articles
To access the following databases, click on the Find Articles link at
the top of the Library homepage. Login is automatic from the Library computers. From
remote computers, it is necessary to log in by: 1) selecting Pensacola Junior
College from the drop down menu; 2) typing the 14-digit PJC photo ID number in
the Borrower ID box; 3) typing the last 4 digits of your Social Security number into the PIN box. Before logging in, be
sure to activate the barcode number on your ID card by contacting the Library
at 484-2002 or stopping by the Circulation Desk in the Library lobby. Once
logged in, click on the Alphabetical link at the top of the page. From
the alphabetical list, click on the database of your choice.
Academic Search Complete
Multidisciplinary source of articles from magazines and scholarly (peer
reviewed) journals. Includes abstracts (summaries) of most articles. To limit to
full-text articles only, and or scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals, check the
appropriate box(es).
PsychArticles
Provides full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in
psychology. Contains more than 100,000 articles from 59 journals - 48 published
by the American Psychological Association (APA) and 11 from allied
organizations.
WEB SUBJECT DIRECTORIES:
Google Scholar limits Google searching to those sources considered
scholarly. Provides the text of some articles. To set Scholar to search PJC
article collections, follow the instructions located at:
