ok, can I just say, it was a waste to tear down the old library... not that it was that great or anything... but honestly, will the new one last the record 25 years!?????
No, you'll tear it down to, with haste and ignorance just like you did the last one, though no grand tragedy. Just...... it IS sad all the books you all sold off, to make money, the 1920's LIFE magazines, DUMPED (I know cause I saved a few) and the endless colection of pre-1960 books about the south... the first edition Dickins (did you even know you had that, 1846) and the classic William Faulkners and Musty T.S. Elliots. Fools. they were books to treasure. A way to look back. But all you cared about was getting your new library and DUMPING all that the past had left us. Well, alot of it anyway. I think it was discracful.
I agree with you 100%. Literally thousands of volumes were discarded in a couple of days for no apparent reason and with a minimum of guidelines.
