Be cautious about your personal information. Do not write it or leave it anywhere except in a safe place. Do not carry all your credit cards on your wallet all the time. Bring only the ones you need to use. Be careful when using ATM, especially if there is another person behind you. Shred past mail, receipts, bills before you trash them. Destroy unused credit cards. Do not give any personal information through e-mail.
Credit card companies are developing ways to reduce the risk of credit card theft but still bad people find ways to get over it. Maybe we should start on ourselves, finding ways to avoid it. You have a good post here.
You can never be too careful, these days it is even worse with facebook and myspace where people readily and willingly put up their life story. I always cut my credit cards into little tiny pieces before throwing it in different locations, paranoid much?? lol
This is horrible to see how many phishing emails are finding us everyday pretending to be the banks, Paypal, even government to try to get your personal and financial information. Something must be done to curb this.
Identity theft has become as much of a threat as terrorism... I guess you would call it personal terrorism.
