The mission of District Learning Resources is to promote the goals and initiatives of the College and Distributed Learning by creating and maintaining access to traditional and digital information resources, reference assistance, instruction, library services and state-of-the-art technology in both the traditional and digital (electronic) environments for students, faculty, staff, and community.

Science festival at SMU aims to encourage young girls' interest in math, engineering The festival, a partnership between business such as Irving-based Exxon Mobil Corp. and Dr. Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, featured hands-on science activities, a question-and-answer session with Dr. Ride and more than 20 workshops designed to spark interest in math and science among fifth- through eighth-grade girls.
The Sally Ride Science Festival, hosted by the SMU School of Engineering, will bring together hundreds of upper elementary and middle school girls, parents and teachers for a day of science and socializing.
